Coaching Tip By Rachelle Taylor,
The Professional's CoachAre you at your cruising altitude?
When an airplane takes off, it uses four to five times more fuel (energy) than it does at its “cruising altitude.” That led me to think about making changes in life. When we set out to do something new – say start a new business, have a child, change careers, end a relationship, move, etc., it tends to take much more energy than “normal,” everyday life. (Even when we strive to change our thinking, it can be like moving the airplane to a new altitude, with habitual thinking of the past sometimes holding us like the power of gravity!)
Take a moment to see where you are in transition in your own life. Are you giving yourself the necessary support, energy, kindness, etc. to help you back to your cruising altitude? Know that you will require more time, attention and support during these times of transition, and that giving yourself the energy needed will get you back to your cruising altitude once again!
One area of your life where you are using energy due to a transition: ________
Support you need to get back to cruising altitude: _____________
How you will get that support this week: ________________
